The French feminists in a flap over the lack of female filmmakers represented at Cannes this year will have to forgive us for being excited for the festival nonetheless. A slew of American directors—including Cannes first-timer Wes Anderson—means the boldfaced names are even bolder (Brad! Reese! K-Stew! R-Patz!), while new parties and nightspots mean late nights will be be even later.
